From the lush, green lawns, rustic barns, and elegant mansion textures at Highlands Ranch Mansion, to summer sunsets over Chatfield State Park’s reservoir, fall golden grasses along the Platte River, and the urban charm of Littleton’s alleys and staircases, the south Denver and Littleton area delivers season-perfect backdrops that make your portraits feel authentic, varied, and unmistakably Colorado.
chatfield State Park.
There are tons of options at Chatfield…more urban looks with roads and bridges and lots of nature with mountain views, lakes, rivers, open fields and some epic sunset spots!
Highlands Ranch Mansion.
The mansion can be a one-stop location for your senior pictures! The grounds are immaculately maintained for lots of green grass and trees and colorful flowers. The stone mansion provides amazing textures, steps and interesting features for a backdrop. Then, there’s a dirt path, grassy fields and a rustic red barn. So many options in one location!
Downtown Littleton/Jackass Hill.
If you want a more urban look for your session, downtown Littleton is a great option! Lots of different colored brick walls, cool staircases and alleyways, there are so many possibilities! Then, if you want to switch it up for the end of your time, we can head right over to Jackass Hill which is a wide open field with far-off mountain views that is awesome for sunset.
South Platte River.
Great nature area with a lake that has some far-off mountain views, rustic fences and, at certain times of year, rolling water over rocks that leads into the river. It’s a unique spot that is great as an add-on location or by itself.
Studio.
Studio sessions aren’t the old-school photos that might come to mind. In-studio produces beautiful, timeless portraits and can be as creative as you want! It is a great option to show off something that you love and that makes you uniquely you or get that high-glam portrait you’ve always wanted. You can either send me your ideas for a fun photo or I can plan out backdrops and props for you!
Lakewood Heritage Center.
Although a bit of a drive from the Highlands Ranch area, this location makes for great photos. It has a little of everything…open fields, a lake, a bridge and big red barn. Then, it also has historic retro buildings that provide a colorful, unique backdrop. It’s a fun spot!
Hildebrand Ranch.
Hildebrand is one of the most “Colorado” locations around! With a rustic white barn, lots of trees and wide open field it gives plenty of photo options…and the foothills sunset can’t be missed!
McKay Lake.
This lake is in the Broomfield area. McKay Lake has lush greenery, a dock, views of a barn and a few other cool nature features. It is a bit of a drive from the south-Denver area, but can be a great option for your session!
McCabe Meadows.
McCabe Meadows is a versatile location in Parker. There are trees, wide open fields, a bridge and some rock formations that have water during the summer months.
